Best HD6950 brand?

Hi, I am looking to get a HD6950 2GB version. Which brand and version would be best for me?

I plan on overclocking and flashing it to 6970. Thanks!

Sapphire Dirt 3 edition seems to be pretty popular here late. And it has like a 60/40 chance of unlocking to 6970 from what I have read. The sapphire toxic is apparently a monster when you overclock it.

sapphire reference 2gb , flash it right over to 6970 bios .. Best performing 6950 but hard to find , i bought mine last year .

alot of people will direct you to the dirt 3 edition or the toxic but meh ..

get a TFIII or something if you dont want a reference card , but i dont see you flashing to a 6970 .. hardly any do anymore but the shaders should unlock atleast on most cards ..

remember reference cards are louder then non reference .

Yes all reference use the same pcb , different cooler / stickers .

Not a fan of the revised pcb , the original reference 6950's with dual bios switch are beast .

to me the toxic looks extremely cheap compared to the reference , the quality is much lower .

They make them cheap to sell them cheap .

My 6950 had a $435 AUD price tag when i bought mine in december last year .. look how cheap they have gotten . They have modified the hell out of them to make them as cheap as possible to produce so they can sell them off like hotcakes .. they are in high demand

anywho goodluck OP

with what i have my 6950 works flawless and has been oc'd to what i have in my sig rig. aka the stuff you seen at the bottom of my posts. but you should answer this. do you want a reference cooler or a non reference one and are you gonna put a full cover waterblock on it or not.

Thanks. No I don't intend to water cool it. I was looking at the non-ref cooler models like the TFIII or DCII but it seems like those can't be flashed to 6970?

Are the benefits of flashing to 6970 better than the cooling benefits of non-ref coolers when overclocking?
