Best Air Cooling for Core i7 950

Thread Starter
So I have an Intel based rig. A Core i7 950 on a GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2 with a Coolermaster Geminii S cooler. I am looking to upgrade my cooling and I have been exploring my options for a while now.

For the longest time I have been set on liquid cooling, my case is a NZXT Phantom and the plan I have had for a long time is to put a 240 Rad in the top with 4 fans in push pull and a 120 rad on the back with two fans in push pull. I would have a water block on the CPU and eventually the GPU(s).

Last night it dawned upon me that liquid cooling may not be best for me as I move my PC from school and home multiple times a year and that I would have to drain the coolant from the loop before moving it. I would have to move my computer every 7 weeks because there are 4 7 week terms with breaks at my college, there would be one more time when thanksgiving rolls around.

In the interest of keeping my desktop computer more portable (sounds silly) I am looking into the best air cooling set up I can do for my i7 950 in my NZXT Phantom case.

What would you guys suggest? Am I right to assume that I would have to drain my liquid cooling loop every time I move my PC?

I had my i7 950 on an old hyper z600 from cooler master fanless no OC.

Best is probably noctua nh-d14, to high oc with or silver arrow.

Budget best bang for buck, CM hyper 212+

Hmmmmm I was looking at the NH-D14 and I wasn't pleased with the temps I saw people getting. I think I am just gonna go ahead with liquid cooling and stock up on coolant for the semi-frequent draining.

How often do your PC? I am just worried that moving it around might cause tubes to pop off while moving my PC and leak all over the precious components.

Am I being paranoid?
