Can/Should I Run Skyrim on my Computer or 360?

Thread Starter
Now before you outright answer one or the other let me tell you that my computer is about 4 years old or so. The following are the system requirements for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Skyrim Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)

CPU: dual core 2GHz

RAM: 2GB

HDD: 6GB hard disk space

GFX: DX9c video card with 512MB RAM

Skyrim Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)

CPU: quad-core Intel/AMD

RAM: 4GB

HDD: 6GB hard disk space

GFX RAM: DX9 video card with 1 GB

GFX: GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher

Audio: DX compatible sound card

These are my computer's specs:

OS: Windows XP 32 Bit

CPU: 2 Duo core 3 GHZ

RAM: 3.25GB

HDD: 6GB hard disk space (got that obviously)

Vid Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

Audio: DX compatible sound card

Now I come down to the part where I decide to use my 360 or my computer for the game. If I go with the computer the video card would work at a 1920x1080 resolution but not perfectly, and I may need to upgrade. I also have to wait for the game to install on launch day, and I am required to use steamworks with the game and I have had issues with steam and wold prefer not to use it for this game. I also do not particularly want to have to use a mouse and keyboard to play this since its action oriented, but the graphics may be better and the over-all game may run better (plus modding is awesome) in comparison to the 360.

On the 360 I don't have to worry about upgrading my computer, install times, steam, and I can use a controller which I prefer. However 360 isn't great on graphics, mines a refurbished one at that too so its not exactly a top notch 360. I also can not mod it.

So my question is based on this information, can I run skyrim well enough on my computer? Assuming I can, should I purchase it for the computer or the 360?

imo just get it on the 360. I read its just a console port anyways. That and your graphics card isnt the fastest and would need an upgrade anyways. + you dont have to deal with the inevitable launch problems on the PC.

It wont be bad on the PC for you but i would say if you plan on upgrading your PC in the future, just get it for the PC.
