Ok I just got my zalman vf3000f and as soon as I was screwing the heatsink for the final step 2 of the screws snapped in half :-(. I want to know if anyone happens to know where I can get screws long enough to attach to the heatsink. Rep for whoever can help since I need it :-( would like to know a place i can drive to since i would rather not deal with shipping thanks

You can try writing to Zalman and getting a replacement screw.

Just get the measurements of the screw (and/or type) and go to ACE hardware or the like and they will most likely have a screw that will fit.

Just about any proper hardware store should carry a large enough assortment to find something that will fit.
I have run into instances where I couldnt find a good replacement.... then you'll have to get creative.

Dig through the trays and bring the part with you for test fitting.

well after a little thinking I tried putting the screw on the other side and using zipties

It worked now I'm idling 35-40c :]

I even painted the cover since I didn't like the green and used wrinkle black

Sorry for the double post but for some reason its idling at 40 but load its getting to 80c how in the world is that possible? My bottom card with high flow bracket and backplate load on 65-70 :/ I knew I should have went with the accelero

A screw applies a LOT more force to the mounting surface than a zip-tie ever will...
it's likely not mounted correctly.

Put the stock cooler on, exchange the aftermarket cooler for a replacement.

how can I do that with the screws broken? Also the fan cover is painted black will they just take the cooler?
