Then you're not thermal throttling. So your CPU is working as its supposed to be, your temperatures aren't out of line.

Honestly....I'm at a loss as to what your problems are. It could still be a slight CPU bottleneck (which an overclock would fix that, but I wouldn't do it on the stock cooler). It could also be a driver issue if you're not on the latest drivers. BF3 is supposed to be played with the latest drivers as they were released with that game in mind (optimizations).

Drivers are up to date. This doesn't explain my frame rate issues with World of Warcraft

Will OC the CPU next week when I get a new CPU - any recommendations for around $70-$100 US? Don't need something crazy good...just better than stock.

Anyone else got some ideas to fix fps issues?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, thanks a bunch for the help pioneerisloud!

The cooler? The CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is okay, it'll get you to around 4.5GHz or so safely. Next step up, honestly would be a Corsair H80 or even better yet the H100 if you can fit it. Then custom water cooling (kits start at about $150).

WoW is incredibly CPU intensive. So having a lower clock speed would give problems with WoW, that and it doesn't support SLI natively either (which is why you see low GPU usage).

so there's several things to check.
1) you're using current drivers because you can play BF3.. check!
2) your motherboard is setup for x8/x8 for sli... check!
3) your SLI is enabled... check!
4) you are probably cpu bottlenecked in WoW as usual... check!

Haha, Honestly monitor your CPU usage and see what's up. you might benefit from a light overclock. Hyper212+ is the way to go for most situations. Next air cooler i'd recommend is the Noctua NH-D14 and Thermalright Silver Arrow but the price point is much more.
Hyper 212+ should easily get you to 4.5Ghz, NH-D14 & Silver Arrow to 4.7Ghz safely.

The main things to check have been checked, and I don't know what else to look for besides monitoring usage.

Good advice on this thread, let me just add that when it comes to problems w/GPU usage, online games are absolutely FAMOUS for it. I've seen SO MANY members drive themselves crazy worrying about GPU usage and FPS problems with online games it's not even funny.

So ... I'm just going to say that you're not alone, not even close. There's something about online games where MANY people just don't get their GPU's going at full usage, and you can absolutely drive yourself batty trying to run this problem down.

You've pretty much covered all the 'easy' stuff, the only things left to do is just to OC your CPU, and after that, keep drivers and games updated. Also, run games at the highest possible settings, graphics-wise. You might as well

Beyond that, if I were you, I'd just FORGET about it, because you aren't going to 'solve' these types of issues. Nobody ever does. That's my best advice for preserving your sanity

And my best advice for a VERY good cooler for your OC'ing needs at a pretty reasonable price is the V6GT by Coolermaster.
