How do install Framework .net 4 without being genuine?

Thread Starter
I know the question sounds like it's breaking ToS, and it might... but the thing is: I installed windows, and never put in my serial code. Now that my disk is not with me, and at a different home... I want to play my MMO and install Leatrix Latency Fix. I'm scared if I download off Microsoft website it might cause my windows to become flagged, but I'd rather wait to put in my serial code... it's just that I'm itching to play this MMO without high latency.

I don't know if I install it from a non-microsoft website it would ask for a genuine search, but please feel free to chime in. I know this is a rare situation.

I'm pretty sure it won't flag your PC.

I'm generally lazy about my Windows reinstalls, so I don't activate it until all my startup programs are up and running. This includes framework 4.0, directx and c++ redistributable 2010 x64 directly from the Microsoft website.

None of it has ever flagged my system, and I've simply activated my account afterwards without any issues.

You should be able to install NET Framework Version 4.0 = http://www.filehippo.com/download_dotnet_framework_4/
but the first thing i would do is activate windows.
MS won't flag your system, unless it is past the necessary activation window date *& unless you are running a install that has had WAT (Windows Activation Tool) removed*. You'll be able to get it just like any other update through Windows Update. No need to worry at all if your not running an illegal copy of 7.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. smile.gif

Sorry to revive this, but I can't seem to install framework 4.0 or c++ redistributable 2010 x64 ... It gives me an error like Windows Installer was not installed correctly... I am trying to install these so I can use leatrix latency fix, but even that is giving me an error: Make sure my account has administrator rights (I just did a windows install, I don't see what's up..)

The latency fix that Leatrix attains can be done manually through the registry.
http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/51444-reduce-game-network-latency-in-windows-7-or-vista/
Quote:
1. From a command prompt (usually in All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt) run “regedit”
2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
3. Browse the items under interfaces until you find one that has an IPAddress entry matching the network interface you want to affect (typically LAN IP addresses start with 192.168 or 10.0); note that if your IP address is automatically assigned by a DHCP server you may need to look for a matching DhcpIPAddress instead of IPAddress
4. Right-click on the interface and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, name it “TcpAckFrequency”
5. Right-click the new TcpAckFrequency value and select Modify, enter “1″ (Hexadecimal radio button should be selected)
6. Right-click on the interface and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, name it “TCPNoDelay” (note that TCP is all uppercase this time – that’s intentional)
7. Right-click the new TCPNoDelay value and select Modify, enter “1″ (Hexadecimal radio button should be selected)
8. Verify that both TcpAckFrequency and TCPNoDelay now show up in the adapter’s property list with types REG_DWORD and values 0×00000001
9. Exit regedit and reboot (reboot is necessary for the changes to take effect!)
10. Play a game and enjoy your new low ping

Personally I've never had to add in the TCPNoDelay value as it had no effect, but your system may react differently.

P.S. As a general disclaimer, always back up your registry before you change it, just in case.

In my MMORPG, there seems to be a difference. I don't know anything about port forwarding or anything about my router's performance. I am a rookie when it comes down to networking, and I bet since I haven't tweaked much this would help (it has for over two years, in the same game).

I appreciate the fact you posted, because I usually don't get one. I'll try to do it manually and see if I notice a difference in game. I'll report back.
