Offset voltage 2500k

So let me get this straight I have been getting for say a voltage of 1.336 with LLC at level 3 but my bios volts shows 1.320 I set my offset to -.010 and now my volts in cpuz and other programs under load is the 1.320. I am trying to understand if this is what this is for or if I'm understanding this way wrong sorry if this is a dumb question but just want to make sure I understand this right .

It's just a coincidence that it ended up being 1.320V.

The main reason for using Offset is to allow the voltage to dynamically adjust the voltage based on CPU load instead of being at the full-load voltage (like 1.336V) 24/7.

also if you lower your volts by say -.010 does not mean thats exactly how much it will lower by. by mine is wacky but that could just be mine

Well then I'm lost TwoCables I have my volts showing 1.320 in the bios and cpuz. Now this is under prime load when I stop prime I do drop down to like 1.008 volts or something so I'm not running the overclock volts 24/7 and this is with volts on auto so I'm not understanding why I need offset ???. Do I use a offset if I change the volts from auto to say manual. I understand fixed would make it stay at 1.320 24/7 right?

But you are not using Auto. If you were, then it would say "Auto" instead of "0.010" in the UEFI. The "Auto" setting makes the voltage go way higher than it needs to be under load. So keep it set to an Offset and do not allow it to say "Auto".

Well yes I should have said that better I was on auto before I switch to offset for like 20 mins last night. So If for say auto my volts are 1.336 and I want to see how low I can go to keep stable I go down for say .05 volts at a time and test so on and so on. Hopefully I got this right now Kinda feel like a noob amd overclocking is what I have done for 5 years first intel build.

Yup. Just slowly take the offset lower and lower until you can't boot to windows or fail a quick stress test. Then add a little and test.
