Trifire Temperatures

Hi guy, I'm running 3 5850's in a trifire setup and my first card (connected to my monitor) is always 10 degrees hotter the the 2 under it. Is this normal?
100% normal. The upper cards catch heat off the lower cards, Simple physics my man
post #3 of 9
yea it is normal since the heat of the bottom 2 are rising causing the top gpu to be hotter

Thanks for the quick response guys, I have one more expansion slot remaining which is the first expansion slow (above all the video cards). Would adding a PCI slot blower there improve temperatures?

I also have an Antec Spot Cooler laying around. How should I set the spot cooler up to best cool the video cards? Thanks in advance

My cards run ~15 & 8c warmer* than the bottom card.
But yes it's perfectly normal heat bleed.

Yeah, I am using afterburner. I just turned off powerplay and with clocks at 850/1200, my idle temps are 82/68/64 respectively (powerplay off, 0% gpu usage).
seems a bit hot for idle.. my fan speed is 45% at idle. my cards sit at 45/43/34 same clocks as you, 1100mV on the cards

my spot cool is set on the northbridge.. that's where I'd put it. have you checked your TMPIN1(northbridge) temps? my bigbang xpower had some really terrible "TIM" on the northbridge until I redid it with some high quality thermal pad.
