Question about Y/T splitters

Ok, So I was wondering about Y and T splitters and how to get them to flow water between components evenly. I was thinking of a single loop, with an aquarium water chiller, with no radiators. And the loop would go as followed:

AFAIK no , the blocks could have very different amounts of flow resistance leading to one block getting way more/less flow than the other

it's still possible that even a low amount of flow is enough to properly cool (hell I run at 50 liters/hour most of the time), but in general you should only split between identical blocks (SLI/crossfire blocks) and keep the rest of your setup in series

anyway with only a single CPU & GPU there is no need to worry about heating up water between components, so just go for a regular setup

I would rather do that, but I am trying to resist using radiators, they will make the small room too hot. Which is why I was wondering about using a splitter, I didnt want to make the water flow directly from the CPU to the GPU or vice-versa, I figured that would be bad for temps xD

Is it possible for me to use some sort of resevouir to stop the flow before pulling it with a pump? Something like....

mmm. this seams pointless? at this point why wouldnt you just keep it two separate loops?

Well, I suppose you could do it like this:

Chiller --> Splitter --> A pump on each tube --> CPU and GPU seperately --> Splitter --> Chiller.

That should take care of a good percentage of blocking capability of one block compared to another. But how well it does I wouldn't be able to tell you. But yeah the only noticeable difference like explained below is the extra money you'll pay for the splitters and the extra pump.

it's not, temps will hardly rise more than 1~2c when gaming~folding with only those 2 components.

We had a thread about this a week or 2 ago, it takes about 200Watt of heat to heat up water 1c between components, which means you'll need to have blocked up your cpu, mainboard and 4 graphics cards and have them all run LinX and Furmark before it becomes an issue

just do the most logical thing

because then I would have to buy 2 chillers, I know this is unconventional, but I am trying to cool my PC without using radiators, so the air temp in the room will not be rising. I am currently air cooling and the temperature of the room increases too much for my liking (it is a small windowless room). So I was planning on using a chiller, since cooling radiators will result in a higher ambient temp.

yes, maybe a degree more or less but nothing significant

why people suggest putting rads in between? I dunno .. ignorance? no really it doesn't hurt obviously (as you could gain a degree or two under extreme circumstances) but it is obviously not necessary either, so would I never absolutely "recommend" it.

I'll always advise you to do it like this :

-when you have multiple rads you just use whatever works out best for routing your tubes (unless you're running two cpu's and four gpu's or something silly like that)

-when you have a single rad (aka a single chiller) just put everything behind each other because there is no other choice is there

the 1~2c degrees aren't going to make a difference in overclocking capability or anything else, that's for sure

A chiller will do worse! You need to understand how that works. Cold doesn't just magically appear; it moves heat from one side to the other. It moves the heat from the water to the room and adds even more of its own.
