Loop 2x 6970 / CPU help.

Hey,

I just bought a cheap 6970 with a cooler thats not working properly.. So next month I will buy 2x waterblocks and another card.

Thing is I need some help for my loop, since I´ve not done GFX before, only CPU (See build link in my signature for current with pictures)

I will buy a 800D probaly since thats lovely for WC.

EK - FC6970 - Acetal x2

http://www.coolerkit.dk/push_on___g%C2%BC___13_10mm___s%C3%B8lv-p-1440.html
Push On - G¼ - 13/10mm x4

I thought about getting http://www.coolerkit.dk/xspc_high_flex___19_12_7mm___%C2%BD___12mm____hvid-p-1214.html but then I will need new fittings right?

Else I will buy some more of the current I got.

And ofc one more XFX 6970 and Corsair 800D.

I see a lot of people have 800D in here with WC, so maybe some of you had some ideas or scetches for a loop.

I also only have a RX240 rad at the momment, will I need to get another or a 360? I would like to keep the price as low as possible.

Hope you can help me .

I'd recommend a 360 on top and modded 240 on the bottom which will give you great cooling. (I'm expanding as my set up just barely cools my rig)

You may be able to get away with a 360 up top and a 120 out back if you do not feel like gutting the bottom of the 800D (to remove the HDD trays) in order to mount the 240 rad down there. Or, you can externally mount the 240 out back with a bracket.

Look at some of these 800D watercooled build logs, the parts/pictures should give you plenty of idea to start with.

Thanks a lot for the links!

But are you sure I will need to get a 360, and my 240 (RX240) can't handle CPU+2 GPUs loop? Since it will be quite expensive to get a RX360 rad.

There is no way a 240 alone would handle 2x6970 + CPU. Between them is probably a total of 700w.

Yes, buy a 360 radiator. For low noise get the Black Ice SR-1 (under 2000rpm fans) or a Xspc RX 360 (for 2000rpm fans) or a Black Ice Xtreme if you want the best cooling and not worried about noise.

I know the 800D is nice but for 280+$$ you can almost buy a U2-UFO or a Pinnacle 24 depending on what config you pick at Mountainmods.com. The reason why I saw look into mountainmods is because your looking at getting 1 radiator and possibly want another later.
