I havent experience any stuttering with HT on.
Is this only a problem with CF or SLI??

Using a i7 series shouldn't cause any stuttering problems with HT on in BF3. So I suggest that you just keep it on. I don't have any stuttering issues with HT on. However, stutter maybe an issue with HT on for a 920, for example.

I don't get it, all this people say off is smoother, but I can't tell the difference.

IMO, they don't know what they are doing. I have HT on and don't have any stuttering issues. Also, you have to take into consideration 1st gen i7s such as the 920, etc. HT wasn't that great for those cpus. And to further solidify that fact someone created a thread suggesting that lower the mouse sensitive (I suggest both sliders) removed all stuttering. I had already did that as the mouse sensitivity was to high for me at default settings.

It's a known problem. It's been all over the battlelog forums for the past week. Some have it some don't, It's just the way it is.

I just got my second GTX460 working (after a nightmare with a bad SLi bridge) so I can now push BF3 to Ultra getting 55-75 FPS no problem... thing is one of 2 things happens at this graphics setting:

1. Random FPS drop (down to 20-30) for about 5 or 6 seconds
2. The game doesn't 'feel' smooth, even though I'm averaging 65 FPS it just doesnt feel liquid, its kind of hard to explain.

Neither of these occur at High settings, I've tried enabling VSync and that didn't fix it either.

Anyway I heard that if I disable Hyperthreading on my i7 then these issues will be resolved, can anyone share some experience or expertise on disabling HT?

Thanks,
Acry

Disabling HT fixed all of my stuttering issues that I was experiencing. I also had the same issues in BC2.

I would definitely do this unless you use HT in other applications a lot.

Lol. So you've never seen a difference but you declare better game performance with it off? lachen.gif

OP: I turned mine off and the game seems to run smoother. I can OC more therefore I can increase game performance.
