Gaming PC Build - The cheaper, the better

Thread Starter
Hello guys.
Besides this being my #1 post, I would really like some questions answered or at least hear different opinions.

I am going to build a custom PC (mainly for gaming) in the next few months (starting December). I was wondering what is the cheapest option I could go with? With lifespan and performance in mind?

I would like the rig to last intact for about 2 years, before upgrading. I am playing at a small resolution at the moment (1280x1024), but planning an upgrade, after the build (probably 1080p).

Best solution so far:
- ASUS P67 Sabertooth / ASUS P8Z68-V LE (if I ever decide to go SLI, I would like a cheap SLI-supporting mobo like Sabertooth; if not Z68-V LE should do)
- i5 2500k (I do intend to OC and already found a perfect cooler for it)
- 560 Ti (factory OC to 900 core/4212 memory) - NEED SUGGESTIONS HERE
- PC3-12800 Vengeance Kit (8GB @1600)

I already bought the hard drive and power supply (650W), so that's not on the list.

My questions are:
- What graphics card will keep up with new games like BF3 and all its eye-candy, even if I decide to upgrade to a superior resolution?
- Is the processor worth buying yet, or should I just wait for the Bulldozer series to come out, so Intel's SB price drops (suggested by many)? Have any other similar (performance-wise) AMD resolutions?
- Is 1600Mhz RAM for OCing enough (if I go for the 2500k)? I heard 1866 is recommended.
- Should I go for the mobo that supports SLI or not? Any other suggestions?

I would really like to go with Nvidia (and Intel).. I could switch over to AMD if we're talking serious "bang-for-buck" over at the reds.
That basically sums it up. One more thing though - In EU (Slovenia in this case), the price of hardware/components is usually higher than in US (even up to 20% and more), so keep that in mind please. My budget's limited to about 800$-900$ (max. 1000$) [keep in mind the price here is bigger ~15%].

Thank you for reading. Any suggestions, opinions, answers will be appreciated.

PS: First time posting, so please excuse me if I posted in the wrong section. Oh and no AMD/Intel/Nvidia fanboys please. I want to see stats, not flamewars, even tho I do preffer Intel/Nvidia.

I have a GTX 570 and I play BF3 on ultra(everything maxed) with a 40" LED @ 1920 x 1080, and I have NO problem with FPS. Where are you going to be ordering from? will scan work?

EDIT: As far as RAM is concerned. CL9 1600MHz is very fast, and you will not notice the difference in speeds if you go lower latency or faster speeds. If you do the calculations, I have plenty of times, it will be like a 5% difference. And RAM is already fast so it is a few nano-seconds at the most.

I don't think so, bro. I am not sure if they ship to Europe (ie Slovenia) and even if they do, the shipment could cost quite some money.

ASUS P67 Pro
i5-2500K
2 x 4GB 1600MHz CL9 RAM
GTX 560ti or GTX 570. You probably want to get the 570 if you can afford it. The 560ti might not hold it for the upcoming games. You will want to SLI it later down the road but you might want a 700W PSU for that since you are OCing.
Cheap DVD drive
Case of your choice that is still in budget.
You already have HDD and PSU.
Dont forget the OS either

Sorry for the lack of links, Google Chrome stopped translating... :/

If you really want more bang for your buck, you can go AMD, the 955 processor is very nice for gaming. But the i5-2500K is better and more future proof.
