SteelSeries 6Gv2 Key Hardness

Thread Starter
Hello guys,

Searched for a mechanical keyboard for some time and stopped on SteelSeries 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard. However, after reading a lot of reviews and watching review videos, in a portion of them people talked about how hard are the keys to press and how tired will you fingers be in the end. One guy even wrote he had finger trauma after using that keyboard for a year... well sounds like a BS, but who knows.

Anyone with this keyboard that has used it for some time, can you please give me your opinion on that matter.

Thank you.

I have heard alot of people saying it's hard to press down the keys and that it gets tiring. But for me it's easy to press down the keys after 8-10 hours of straight gaming or like 4-6 hours of typing papers my fingers don't get tired and don't hurt at all. Oh to add I have has this keyboard for almost a year now.

It uses Cherry MX Black switches which have an actuation force of 60g, so they are quite stiff. Some people love them, personally I sold my keyboard with MX Blacks because my fingers would get fatigued after long gaming sessions. It is a preference, so don't let other's opinions sway you before you try them.

Used it for months, never bothered me.

I'm using a board right now with mx clears that are supposedly like a cross b/w a black and a brown switch w/ a different point in the keypress for the tactile bump. Alot of people also say they are very stiff (which they are), but they don't cause any fatigue for me of any kind.

Sounds like a bunch of girly men who haven't typed enough to get carpal tunnel a few times yet.
