BF3: very playable on 560ti on High with 4xAA!

Well that's the good news. I honestly have no idea about my FPS or temps, but running BF3 at 1080p on High with my 560ti Hawk, + 4xAA and 16xAF and HBAO on is extremely playable

Though it does sound like my computer is agonizing at times, there's nothing crashing and no artifacts. I'm now overclocking my Hawk (it crashes with ANY overclocking at all... ).

So there ya go. Those of you on a budget can definitely get great looking playable game time out of a single GTX560ti. I guess y'all knew it, but even adding 4xAA works out too.

Hmm what do you consider "playable"?

My 560ti + i5-2500K can pull around 70 FPS on maps like Caspian Border at 1080p on high everything (ultra textures though), 0 AA, 16xAF, and HBAO off

It looks pretty darn good with HBAO and AA off, I have yet to tweak to get the optimal performance/visual ratio

Got my 560 Overclocked to 935MHz now and I'll get 60fps easy on any map with 4xAA. SSAO instead of HBAO. Although i'm only running 1360x768. Still uses 1000MB+ of Vram... Basically my video memory is my bottleneck...

Y'all have bigger CPUs (running on an i5-760) but this seems about on par with what I'm seeing. Honestly I have no idea what my FPS is. I doubt it's very high, maybe around 30 or so. But the game is definitely very playable, no hang ups, nothing.

please stop lying to yourself. 4xMSAA cripples performance. Yes, even on the gtx 580's. Unless you meant Anti-aliasing deferred on medium or something, then that's another story.

Sure, the word "playable" comes into context, but your fps won't survive long when smoke, heavy explosions, tank blowing up and stuff like that occurs.

What's playable to you might be hell for another person. And i doubt you're playing on 32v32 servers cause even tho my 570 is running smooth on Caspian Border and maintaining 60 fps majority of the time, the Vram is shooting up to 1155 with everything on high.

I am so confused now. How much does BF3 use in VRAM? I keep getting huge different answers.

Everything on Ultra and 2xAA @ 1080p - Tops around 1400MB
Everything on Ultra and 4xMSAA @ 1080p - Tops around 1600MB

That is on a full 64P server with heavy action..
