How much VRAM does Bf3 need? - Page 2

The more the better. Go to WEI and then display options, have a look what your shared system memory size is, usually 1.5x + a bit of your vRam. It uses this up too.

It says I have a max of 2048MB when I only have 2x5850's which is 1024MB unless it's adding both cards VRAM which would be 2GB VRAM. But I don't think it does that?

edit: Basically if i turn my texture quality from high to ultra my FPS doesn't necessarily bottom out it just stutters sometimes it will bottom out. It's actually just a little glitchy so I'm assuming that it's just because of the fact I ran out of RAM. I could test that by lowering my resolution to 1920 x 1200 and then putting my texture detail on ultra.

Yup, running out of memory. BF3 eats it up.

I just ordered myself another 8GB yesterday. Dont like using page file for games much, or anything really.
