Yeah, pretty sure many people don't know that. Like I said in my first post, ram should be the last deciding factor. A game will eat up as much as it can if you have any to spare, but they don't NEED that much. Usually not to much performance difference.

I direct your attention to this thread.

If the Graphics cards in question fail to have an adequate amount of VRAM, the system will seek the excess needed in the System Ram, and performance will tank.

I think it may be a little different with a 460 then a 580.
