Upgrade?

Thread Starter
I am looking to do a few upgrades as i have previosly posted about but due to recent circumstances budget as been reduced.

So i am looking to try and retain alot of my current gear and working with what i have to maximize performance.

I currently have a Phenom II X2 555 and a 760GM-P33 motherboard. I was originally going to upgrade the CPU but after it beoing brought to my attention that it is not that great of a motherboard i am looking to upgrade that as well.

The only upgrades i am really looking at are motherboard, CPU and GPU (and ram of course) if i can.

I am wondering if i am better to upgrade the motherboard first and trying unlocking and oc'ing my CPU before buying a new CPU. And if that works ill be able to get a MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II alot sooner.

Or am i better of waiting and getting a 1090T and a new mother board together and waiting for a GPU for awhile? And is may case good enough to be able to work with?

The motherboard i am looking at is a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3.

Thanks

Well, first question, whats your budget?

Second, do you plan on staying AMD or go Intel?

you can upgrade the board to save money a bit cause the am3+ still supports phenom x2. video card i would wait because i think there is going to be a new version of the 560 ti coming out soon. Um what is your budget you have set aside for this.

Looking at staying AMD.

And looking at about $150-$200 AU - but trying to be as tight as possible. I know that budget and quality dont mix but im hoping to find somethign in that bracket.

so yeah just upgrade your mobo for now and sit with the cpu you have till you get more money to work with. A phen x2 should be able to handle most single card configures. You will want either a 890 to x-fire and a 990 to sli/x-fire so there are a bunch of choices in between. dont hold me to it but i also think the 880 and 980 can also sli/x-fire but not to sure
