Why haven't the X6's come down in price?

Thread Starter
Yeah a 2500k would be nice but i don't want to spend $220 on a cpu.

I figured i could at least get into a nice priced X6 cpu once bulldozer came out Well.. the 1100 is still $189 at newegg??...Why wouldn't I just spend the extra $30 for a 2500k at that price point??

On another topic, is AMD planning on more 95W X6 cpus?? i don't get it. I know the 95w 1055T exists but it's not even worth bothering/finding. A 3.2GHZ+ 95W X6 sure would be nice..

I've never been a huge intel fan but things just aren't making sense lately. I think playing the waiting game isn't a very good bet either.

That's why intel is a boss nowadays Bulldozer was a fail so there isn't any point in lowering prices..

I still am a fan of AMD. But now I am also a fan of Intel as well. I decided not to play the waiting game, and now I absolutely love my pc. I still have my AMD rigs, I just never use them, lol.

X6 is a very big and expensive chip to manf. They're already at very low profit margins so it may not be worth it for AMD to drop price, especially since they perform very close to the much more expensive BD chips.

AMD is phasing out its Phenom II line sometime around end-year.
