I am working on a Dell Optiplex GX620

I am looking at the chipset and the hs seems fine.

It is well seated and the z bracket that holds it in place is fine as well the uhooks on the motherboard are solid and in perfect position.

I am considering running a wire lead between the two hooks and soldering it in place.

Has anyone here successfully solved this issue or similar?

That's probably from back when they had the problem of heatsinks popping off during transport. Since you verified its on, short it out
