Which one is future proof? Can the above mentioned 6950 be unlocked? Which of the two will be better in a 2 or 3 way multi gpu setup?

I'm stuck and can't decide between the two.

Thanks in advance.
One thing to note is the 560 Ti is getting a re-fresh new version coming out this Holiday (about a month), so that's why I decided to go with the 6950, otherwise your 560 Ti will be replaced immediately.

Its the same with the 6950, the 7000 series should be coming out soon. Either way we are going to be buying an old card.

Very true. Either way, I want to upgrade. Hmm, now you're making me rethink this whole thing, haha.

Nothing new enough to warrant interest is coming out anytime soon. The HD7k cards out "soon" are low end mainly aimed at OEM market. You're not going to see a 7950 or whatever by christmas. A refresh of the 560ti is a nice thing, but don't expect it to perform leaps and bounds better than what is out now (look at 470 vs 570).

Does 560 ti hawk have 3 way sli? I don't think I have the patience to wait till mid December for the refresh. It won't hit the Indian market till Jan.

No. 560/560ti can only do 2-way. 570 can do 3-way, 580 can do 4-way.
