My case cooling is two 140mm front fans and two 120mm rear exhaust fans. I replaced the front 140mm and one of the rear 120mm. I plan on getting a Corsair H80 CPU cooler. Should i also replace the fans that come with the H80?

yes, you can connect them together, i do that, also they will run at 100% unless you add resistors to them.

i would get a h100 from personal experience, i didnt replace my fans, but added 2x200mm to it because of my case set up, great temps

Thread Starter
I don't know where i could mount the H100 in my case. I don't wanna cut my case any. Lian Li makes a replacement top that has cut outs for two 120mm fans. Perfect for the H100 radiator and fans BUT i cannot find it anywhere except at performance pcs and they want 150 for it. I only paid 137 for the case so i'd rather not do that. I might try contacting newegg and see if i can send back the Corsair ram and trade it for their Vengeance low profile ram or some Ripjaw X's.

in my old case i had 4 fans running and all connected together, if u put to many after eachother u'll just end up with a huge moles-stick wink.gif

You have coined a new technical phrase "moles-stick' the wording does get the point across.I do everything I can to use as few molex connectors as possible, definitly my least favorite connector but they are "quick and dirty".

yes your fan will always run @100% if you run them from the 12v source (w/ molex adapter), and plugin' more than one adapter to one molex wouldn't be a problem since those fans are not power hungry type.

I don't think you want to replace the fans that come with the H80, since they will be more powerful than your xigmatek fans

If you're still thinking about the H100 and have solved the case space problem, Fry's is selling it for $90 right now - it slightly beats the D14/Silver Arrow, IIRC, but was always over $100.

I'm pretty sure with the D14 fan clips you can clip the fan higher over the top of the corsair ram. The fan will stick out over the top of the cooler a bit more, but it shouldn't be a problem.
