No idea about the sound, but I'm sure that the rig will run most games (even BF3 - gasp) at very high/maximum (my sig rig is very, very similar)

That IS the goal

Do you run BF3 on maximum settings everywhere on 1920*1200?

I would go the Xonar D2X rather than the Xense.

I have sampled both and the D2X is better with gaming, especially if you are going to use headphones.

Other than that, a good solid build!

is 1200 W really necessary? I'd go 800W tops

Currently, yeah.. but with overclocking, a second 580 lightning xtreme edition, and more HDD's... I wanted to go with security... Plus the AX 850 was out of stock, which meant more delays =p

I will.. eventually ^^

But the NH-D14 cools plenty for a 2700k.. I'm going to mount a new fan behind the HDD rack to suck in the air between the SLI'ed lightnings.. Otherwise, because of the twin frozr III cooling system, the bottom card tends to heat a little too much =P

2slick4u : Can you confirm that I will have enough room to SLI the 580 lightnings and put the sound card?

Thanks!

Pretty interesting to hear that it would be the bottom card that would heat up. Normally it's the top. Hope the fan system helps out with that.

I believe you should be able to fit 2 580s and the sound card at the bottom slot. Might be tight, I can't remember though.
