Water Cooler's First Time

Thread Starter
Hey guys I was looking for help with water cooling my sig rig. I am going to be water cooling my CPU and possibly both gpus. I need some help pick out the parts and also help with installing/leak testing/ect. My budget is around 200 to 400$ I would like it to be on the lower side but I may be able to get even higher.

PLEASE NOTE

This will not be completed until around 5 months from now. I just like to pre-pair in advance

It may be abit hard to fit all that into a $400 budget, What 6970's are you running?

A good performing system for HIGHLY overclocked cpu and 2 powerful gpu's is going to run $600. 5.2GHz WOW! Hot, hot, hot!

Perhaps you could buy all the parts except the gpu blocks and add them later.

Sure Sounds good! I think my budget can stretch to there. What parts would you recommend?

^ second that completely, get that, and its $200 down and it will cover ur CPU and then add in the two GPU blocks, people whine about the pump sometimes but plenty of power for most rigs,

ir u do add the two GPU blocks, u may want to add a bit more radiator, maybe a 240 but a second 360 will be very nice,
GPU blocks.... well we cant recommend unless we no what brand, as some blocks fit some brands but it get tricky if its not reference, so when u let us no we can go from there.

the RX360 kit for CPU will rock some socks, highly recommend it even if u dont get into the GPU's for a while get that 5.2 under water as i bet it gets a bit warm, !! good luck water cooling it is so much fun,
the kit comes with everything except water and kill coils. ( so u need to get a little bit of silver)
and don't buy coolant, distilled water is the best and cheapest,
if u want colour get coloured tubing, (as dye and coolant can clog parts, and stain )
the thermal past that comes with the kit is fine, they give u two tubes worth as well, but if u want a specific type, its ur money,

and welcome to OC.net (u seem new)
the RASA water kits have all the info u need here

Thanks! great advice. Yeah it does get a bit warm

Yeah I am new! BTW what is the difference in temps between coolant and distilled water?

I would say build a CPU loop first with a 360 mm RAD if you can and a good pump, MCP655 maybe. Then add the GPU blocks and a second RAD later.
