BF3/Origin CPU Usage Spike

Thread Starter
Hi all.

Got a problem, whenever I've ran BF3 i find that often my CPU usage doubles permanently after closing - and doesn't improve as time goes by.

It's really annoying me now. I've looked in resource monitor/Task Manager and it fails to show me anything that would otherwise indicate whats responsible.

Closing Origin after playing sometimes worked. Now I'm finding most the time it doesn't....I only get this nonsense AFTER i've ran BF3.

It's annoying me now, as it's making my system use an unnecessary amount of electric and generating heat.

Generally, when my system is idling (before launching BF3) usage sits around 5-25%. after running the game though, all four cores consistently shoot up from 25-60% on occasions, often hovering around 50.

Something dodgey is going on here...I'd appreciate any help.

Check the processes tab in task manager and force-kill all BF3 and Origin processes. Origin likes to do a lot of snooping on your HDD but that usually happens when you first start it up , but it shouldn't be doing too much after.
