should i watch core temps since socket temp is frozen at 30C?

ok so ive been having this problem since i upgraded to the gigabyte 990fxa board. temp1 is frozen at 30C. sometimes it moves down to 29 or up to 32 but thats the most it ever changes. when stress testing at 4.2GHz, my core temps only jump to 42C at max. should i just keep an eye on my core temps? using open hardware monitor for temps btw.

You shouldn't be looking at socket temps at all

You want to watch "Core Temp" under load - ignore idle temps.
