How do you think the Bulldozer FX 6100 would compare to the 1090T? So, now it's the 1090, 980, or BD FX 6100.

the FX-6100... just no... it's more like a triple core in performance...

if a 8 core BD matches i5 2500k in multithreading, it will fall horrifically short in single-thread.

fx-4100 is dual core, fx-6100 is tri-core, fx-8100 is quad core (performance wise) even though architecture wise it does have 8 cores physically.

I would get the 960T, you can get it for a good discount right now!

Use the promo code: EMCJJKJ26

Its a steal if its unlocks two other cores. But again, it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

The FX-6100 would probably clock great. If you overclocked it high enough it might do better than the Thuban...but only maybe. Though as time goes on software might catch up to the FX. It's risky though.

I know the Bulldozer's are new and all, but the reviews on newegg tell me that the 1090T is a better processor than the ones I have on my possible list. I'm not buying an 1100T for a measly 100 mhz jump either lol. So, I'm thinking 1090T? What do you guys think? For streaming and gaming at the same time?

Have you guys actually looked at benchmarks for BF3 with different CPUs? Trust me, with a decent quad core you are not going to be CPU-bound. Otherwise it's up to you. For most processes, speed will be identical. For the few uses in which six cores will be utilized, the Thuban will be better. 6 cores will probably be more ideal for future-proofing, but I could have said that years ago.

All the people crying BF3 in regards to the CPU:

what do you know? an i3 first gen dual core is performing on par with an i7 2600k.

I'll just go ahead and assume a 4 core would be fine.

I know getting a 6 core would not really improve gaming performance. But what I am looking at here is when I am gaming and streaming that game at the same time... which processor would be best? I also want to OC my processor though. And I hear the 1090T OC's well.

Meh, it's a tossup. if you buy a 980 [which I don't think you should] you are guaranteed a high overclock because it is guaranteed @ 3.7ghz. That being said, the 1090T will likely get you a nice OC.

as for the other purpose, the 1090T is a better solution
