1090T
980 BE?

I am leaning towards the 1090T. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you guys.

EDIT: Oh, and I am planning on overclocking as well.
i love my 1090t haha, that being said im switching to ivy bridge when it comes out. but i wouldnt switch to sandy at the moment, even if i had the money

Alright. I went with the 1090T. However, it seems to be performing worse than my 965 did when streaming and gaming at the same time. Maybe my cpu is in need of some tweaking? I am trying to run a ps2 emulator (pcsx2). Any suggestions?

fx-4100 is dual core, fx-6100 is tri-core, fx-8100 is quad core (performance wise) even though architecture wise it does have 8 cores physically.

LoL that makes so much sense. BD is the cpu that SHOULD HAVE NOT OF BEEN!!!!!

I'd say 1090T, skip the 980 BE and 960T if it unlocks you lose core temp functionality on the later.
The 980 might hit 4.3GHz but the 1090T can hit 4.1... the 200MHz is not better than having 2 extra cores.

Yeah. I went with the 1090 because of the 6 cores due to the fact that I am streaming and gaming at the same time. Maybe you guys could help me tweak my bios to run my cpu a bit faster. I don't want to burn the cpu out though. I can bring it up to 3.8 ghz without problems. But at 3.9 and on that computer doesn't get past the Windows 7 Logo.

Here are my current specs:

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4N75TD Rev 1.xx
Ram: 5 GB
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1090 Thuban, 3.2 GHZ, 6 Cores
OS: Windows 7 Home Basic 64-Bit

So you where unhappy with the performance of your 1090t vs your 965? was this before or after an OC?
What have you done to check stability? I suspect a unstable overclock.

I OC'ed the crap out of my 965. I haven't done much with the 1090T. Just changed the multiplier. I made a new thread about OC'ing my 1090T. As for this thread, I've bought the processor in question, so mods or admins you can close this down. Thanks everyone for your help, and feel free to post in my new thread to help me out with the OC'ing. Thanks.
