$150 Mechanical Trash? - Page 2

Because it seems it's a flame thread calling mech boards trash, kinda like the Logitech ones we get at GH every once in a while. OP, who did you buy the board from? If Amazon, then go PM Bruce (from KeyboardCo who sells boards to Amazon) regarding a repair (http://geekhack.org). It will cost you obviously since you are at fault, but better than a broken board, eh?

Wow that sounds hardcore. And here I was thinking that you attempted to remove the keycap and ended up pulling out the stem as well. Chill bro. And Assassin's Creed is a great game, you just need to be more patient with Altair. thumb.gif

Sat here mashing the D key on my Filco wondering how on earth you managed to slip and break a switch.. Seems kinda impossible.

Anyway as others have said, switches can be replaced if you know what you're doing.
Filcos are plate mounted. You can replace the switch, but it requires a soldering iron.

Get the Mionix Zibal 60. It has RageProof in its features.

And this is why people blame games when in reality its people with no self control...

You will need to buy a brandnew switch, with proper soldering skills you can replace it. It is safer to send it back for Filco experts replacing it for you.

For your part, you should learn to manage your emotions and let them explode safely into Logitech or Genius keyboards.

Reminds me of the time I Falcon Punched my Dell AT101w and shattered 3 keys and the switches. I think I hurt myself more than my keyboard... D:

I did buy it from Amazon, thanks for the info. I will give fixing it a try myself. I already ordered a new switch a week or so ago and I am waiting for it to arrive. Then I can just solder it onto the plate.
