then i unwrap the laptop and it looked like the guy packing it was eating KFC at the same time, greasy finger marks ALL OVER IT. disgusting.

i will NEVER EVER EVER buy another Asus laptop again......EVER

yea in retrospect i think i should've gone with the 15" its a big enough screen with a bit more portability.

but oh well. I'm still happy with the 17" but the area below the keyboard definitely looks weird with all that empty space.

The 17" is a massive ripoff but the 15 inch is a nice computer. considering one for my next laptop.

I probably would've dropped the extra $50 for the matte display. The glossy is pretty at first, but it's going to drive you nuts the moment you go into a room with lots of bright, overhead lighting.

Congrats, though. Very nice laptop. My step mom just borrowed my gov't status to get a 10% discounted 15" laptop with the high-res matte screen. It's very pretty (and I get the 5% cashback, lol).

Really?? I got a PG4 in early 2005, right before it got optical out and ran it constantly till it was replaced my MBP late 2009. At that point it hardly worked even with stuff like Safari. I mean I did get it when I was 15 so I was rougher on it than I would be now but still thing is SO slow. 1.6GHz single core lol.

I may try to do a fresh install of OS X and see if I can get it working again. I need a new upper case too because mine was completely eaten by oil in my hands. Apple was going to replace it but as my only computer at the time I couldn't part with it for 5 days.

nice machine i have the 15" enjoy
You need to get more memory in that machine..8 gigs of some corsair or some kingston,
Or if your willing to spend uber amounts go to OWC and get 16gb of memory(but they are like 500 bucks for that much lol dual channel)

SSDs are where the big boost comes from though in mac, Enjoy
