Exactly how high will hard drive prices rise?

Anyone have any educated guesses on how bad it might get? Maybe, say $600/TB in a few months? (terabyte, not gigabyte.) If worse comes to worst I might even throw a couple of drives from my sig rig up on eBay

Probably no higher than they are now. They're already double their price, I doubt they're selling many at the moment as it is. You've got to be a fool to pay 150 bucks for a 500gb drive.

Well I think SSD's prevent it from getting too outrageous....considering how SSDs are better than HDDs in just about every way imaginable BESIDES price I don't think it could get too out of hand lol. If you take away the one negative people will just all start buying SSDs. Who knows maybe it's all a conspiracy to get rid of HDDs and move people to SSDs haha

i just checked frys.com earlier. they havent changed their prices for hdd. WD 500gb lue is still $50 compared to newegg $100 also WD 1tb black is $89 and newegg has it for $200.

I've only noticed retailers putting limits on the number of HDDs sold per customer/order. No major price increases.

I am thinking 1tb 7200rpm drives with fetch $300 and 1tb 5400rpm with get $250.

Obviously a guess, but I think they will get this high or maybe even higher.
