Best Headset Under 150$

Hey OCN! I currently use a Logitech G35 headset and am looking for an upgrade. I am a hardcore gamer, but i also listen to music a lot. So i am looking for the best of both worlds basically. I want something with a decent microphone on it that has top notch sound quality for music and gaming. If i could gravitate toward either music or gaming more, i would pick music.

Whats the best headset for listening to music with a decent mic on it under 150$

+rep for good contributions

I just got brand new Sennheiser HD 595's for $140 bucks shipped. Granted these don't come with a mic but since you said you'd lean more towards music then gaming anyway I'd say hands down go for these !!

In all actuality they kick major ass for gaming too! I just use a logitech mic that sits on my desk. You can get em for like 7 bucks at Walmart.

I promise if you get these things you'll hear stuff in your music you never heard before. Be warned though that imo break in DOES matter. When I first got them they sounded only a tad better then my old headphones. After about 2 weeks of use though the difference is amazing.

btw where did u find that headset for so cheap? i found it on amazon for 250..

I bought mine from a guy on here. It's how I got my trader rep. Regardless $259 is the cheapest you can find?? I could have sword they dropped.

Another suggestion would be the Audio Technica ATH-AD700.

I've never used those but on almost every audio forum you go to people say those are amazing for gaming.

The plus is on Amazon they have em for cheap compared to $250..

Get a audio technica M50, then search 'microphone' on amazon, a 3.5mm extension cord, and sticky sided velcro. Then put one piece of velcro on the headphone and another wrapped around the mic. You now have a removable microphone/headset.

Can't offer Rep in your post. Fair warning before mods swoop in and cry.

Ultrasone Pro 550 is the best all around gaming headphone with bass under 150 hands down.

The M50s are poor gaming headphones. They have no soundstage. The 595s are too pricey for the quality they offer. They are bass light as well. Very bass light.

Depends on what type of music you listen to as well bro, do you listen to music that requires heavier bass like dubstep? or something like rock that's aimed more for mids? For gaming you want something with good soundstaging as well...

Well if the HD 595's are $250 right now then I guess I would agree. I got mine for $140 though and that was a hell of a deal. I'd shop around if I were you
