I can't unzip.

Thread Starter
Using any extracting tools, (winzip, winrar, 7-zip, uniextracter) I can't unzip ANY files compressed in any way including .zip, .rar, .0xx, or anything else.

Everything says the same error; "Cannot open file as archive"

I guess I don't really know what needs to be explained because I'm not sure how else to explain it. I need to be able to do this so if someone could just help me out that would be great.

what file system is your c drive?
NTFS is standard but if somehow fat32 it would cause problems on a file over 4GB.
It may just be that the file is corrupt though.
Do you have or can you get access to par files to quickpar the archive?
Pm me if you want I'll try and help, got a bit of experience here!!

Its NTFS, and every single zip file that I don't create myself doesn't seem to want to work at all.

"Do you have or can you get access to par files to quickpar the archive?"

I don't know what that means.

Have you recently moved the files you're trying to unzip?
See, I've had a very peculiar problem in WinXP (32bit) once - couldn't unzip archives and watch videos if they had been moved from their original download location. Ended up formatting everything, which, naturally, solved everything
Is your case the same, by any chance?

I don't know what that means.
PAR files are parity files you get with big downloads to ensure data integrity.

I'm going to have to point it to the files that you're downloading, sounds like a parity issue that's causing it purely because you can open up files that you create.

Sorry
