Are the GTX 470's Good Cards? - Page 2

Love, love, LOVE my OC'd 470 SLI setup. I consider it the perfect setup for 1920 resolution. I even had SLI 480's at one point, and sold them to get the cards I have now, and I'm much happier w/it. Way quieter, cooler, and the max playable settings are identical in every game I've tried, even if the FPS is a tiny bit lower.

At my max OC's (845/1800) I dominate a stock GTX590 or SLI GTX570's, and only lag behind a stock SLI 580 rig by around 15-20% (yes, yes, those can be OC'd as well, we all know )

I will say though that if you for sure only want a single card, a great deal on a 480 is worth looking out for as well. I'd prefer a single 480 to a single 470, but in SLI ... I say 470's all the way (imho) for 1920 resolution.

As posted the 470's are still great cards. @1080p and i ain't found anything that gives it much trouble yet so its still at default clocks. Set up a custom fan profile in AfterBurner (mine is idling now @ 45c) never gone over 75c in anything as far as i can see from the graph.

Snatch one up buddy if they are going cheap (i paid £275 for mine at launch)..... But it was still one of the best hardware purchases i have made price/performance wise. Sure there are newer/faster card out but for much more £$ (i would pay £100 for GOOD 470's all day)..... GET YOURSELF SOME!!.

Thanx.
