NVIDIA 285.62 Issues - Need help!

Thread Starter
Hi fellas. I'm in a terrible need to solve one issue.
I'm currently on 285.62 and it has given me problems! Sometimes it blinks and it comes back to desktop. And sometimes it crashed, resulting in BSOD!
According to the blue screen dump, nvlddmkm.sys caused the crash.
Already used the "Clean Drivers" thread from this forum. Still got the same old issue!

I heard people downgraded to 280.26 and it seemed that they didn't have the problem anymore. I hardly have such problems with that 280.26 driver too although the previous drivers gave me the BSOD problems at times. But since I want to play Battlefield 3, I need 285.62 before I can do so.

There must be a way to solve this because there are a number of people who didn't have a problem with that driver whatsoever...

So rather than reinstalling Windows, could anyone here give me a workaround or solutions on how to solve the issues stated?

Thank you for reading. Hope you'll reply.
Regards......

Well,

How hot does your GPU get when you're gaming? If you're not sure download furmark and run that on extreme burn in. That'll be worst case scenario. It could be that your card is overheating and crashing.

It crashed at idle. And my GPU temp is around 44 degrees Celsius.

Shouldn't be. That card lasted for quite a long time. And i did not tweak it whatsoever.

As for it crashing at idle, that's pretty bad tbh. The only thing I can think of is rolling back to 275.xx and seeing if that helps. Did you even get to opening up furmark?

You need to let it carry on, that's the only way we can get a definitive answer to the issue.

As long as it's below 90c then you'll be fine.

Oh *cough*
Well dunno whether is it safe since my GPU cooler isnt custom (you can see it on my specs).
But you tell me.....should I carry on with such cooling?

It's fine, those cards are designed to hit upto 100c.

90c is hot, yes, it means that you might have to re apply thermal paste because as it gets old it gets less efficient.

If it hits 90c though, close furmark.
