Microphone for Gaming use (UK)

Thread Starter

Ok, so I'm planning on getting a new pair of headphones soon, but I need to get a new microphone for use on skype in game etc.

I've seen a lot of people suggesting the zalman clip on however that isnt available on amazon.co.uk.

Also saw a lot of suggestions for this :

However I still cant see any win7 drivers for it so I dont suppose itll work?

Some suggestions would be most helpful

I'm probably going to buy ATH AD700's for the headphones.

Please bear in mind I live in the UK. This messes up a lot of the pricing but more importantly the availability.

Do you use a xbox controller whist gaming?

If you do just use the xbox headset with it works fine.

what about this :http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=1058&subcat=

Oh sorry i forgot to say : PC gaming exclusively, I dont use an Xbox controller

I checked out that mic however I'm unsure about it. Amazon reviews say the clip is of very poor quality and that the mic picks up interference due to the wiring etc.
Hrm, I'm not really sure how I'd clip it on either. It seems to be a clip designed for going on to lapels on say a suit (which i dont generally wear while gaming ) I guess just clipping it onto a folded bit of my shirt wouldnt be too difficult though

Not sure if its really worth £10

Be ye warned, though, because that Logitech mic picks up everything.

Just get a 3.5mm extension cable, zip tie that to where your headphone's cable meets the casing, then pop in a cheapo Notebook Flexible mic, such as this one. The quality won't be very good probably, but it should be workable. And it shouldn't pick up keyboard clatter and such, but I can make no promises (my similar set-up is still underway).
