Case that will keep the dust out

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I'm on the lookout for a case that is GREAT at keeping the dust out. I live in a dusty environment so it's a must-have. The case must not be too big (I go to LANs a lot), and it needs to have easy access to dust-filters (removable preferred) and it needs to have great cable-organizing. It would also need to support a ASUS Sabertooth P67 + a Corsair H100, I had this problem in the 690 II where the fans on the H100 touched the cooling-fins for the motherboard at the top. If you guys know of a case which does all this, do not hesitate to reply! smile.gif

Unfortunately, you're not going to find a case that will minimize dust intake. It all revolves around fan mounting and dust filters. You could always take a look at Lian Li chassis, they typically have removable air filters that are easy to get to.

Doesn't positive air pressure eliminate dust issues?

If you are water cooling you can mount the radiator on the outside of the case. But that would be bad for carrying to LANs.

Positive pressure only keeps the dust moving. Negative pressure lets the dust settle.

Passive cooling is the only way I know to minimize dust getting into a case.

Spot on.

IF there's airflow, there's always going to be dust...unless you somehow build a vacuum chamber for your PC. Even in passive situations, dust can be present in a case just because the stuff likes to travel in the air of the room.

my case (antec 1200) does a pretty excellent job of keeping dust out, as all 4 intake fans have filters that I clean regularly

If you still have that HAF 922 from your sig then maybe you'd be interesting in buying magnetic dust filters for it, instead of purchasing a new case altogether : http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11728/ffi-56/DEMCiflex_Cooler_Master_HAF_922_Magnetic_Dust_Fan_Filter_Set_-_4_Piece.html

just buy dust filters and add them to the case you already have, or buy any other case that you like and add dust filters to that instead(if thats what you want).
