Look, I've looked up months ago and there was no SOLID info on 580 Quad-SLi. No need to act silly. If you can, find it yourself. You're the one that assumes they pull 1.5kW. Also, to quote Guru3D;

"Note: As of lately, there has been a lot of discussion using FurMark as stress test to measure power load. Furmark is so malicious on the GPU that it does not represent an objective power draw compared to really hefty gaming. If we take a very-harsh-on-the-GPU gaming title, then measure power consumption and then compare the very same with Furmark, the power consumption can be 50 to 100W higher on a high-end graphics card solely because of FurMark."

FurMark can get much higher power per GPU due to full scaling. And those are 480's as well. They pulled a load of power.

The closest thing you have to 580 Quad is 580 Tri, which pulls 750W under RL situations. So with a fourth card, it won't pull anywhere near 2kW. It can not. Just doesn't make sense. At most, it'd pull 750 + 250 = 1000W (not even counting in lower GPU usage) Not only games don't come close to loading that much, but the CPU is mostly %50 loaded in games.

I just recently borrowed a kill-a-watt from a friend and with my TWO GTX580s and my i7-950 running at 100% (Furmark, Prime95) I managed to pull almost 1100 watt from the wall.
I was kind of shocked, I must say.
The GPUs were at 900 MHz core clock

Ok well since i have 2 PSU
1 1500w and 1 1300w

Will i be able to run 4waysli GTX 580 3GB cards
with my 1300w alone?

Yes. Which specific units are in question? Depends a lot on the quality of PSU as well. A hachapichi cheapass 1200W PSU would explode while a HCP-1200 would be chugging along. The TPQ-1200 for example can peak up to 1500-1800W. Those Antec units peak pretty high with overrated Sckottsky rectifiers.

It's rather amazing that you rail on people posting with no purported "first-hand knowledge", and yet yours consists entirely of looking stuff up months ago, quoting review sites, and reading forums; lovely.

Look, here are two videos, from two different sources, documenting power consumption of a quad-SLI GTX 480 setup at 1.5kW.

Once again, if you don't like Furmark, fine; I didn't assume anything - welcome to reality.

Wrong. Games don't pull anywhere near FurMark. And you're showing me 480's, not 580's. I helped a few people on their setups over eVGA (on this subject). And I'm running Quad 470's with a Westmere at 4.2, cards at 750 core under a decent 1.2kW unit. Using a few old WC kits I modded. Doesn't break a sweat. The reality is there, under RELIABLE sources (Guru3D and first hand). But not in those pointless YT vids.

Geezz...

Did I say games pull the same as Furmark? No.
I said, supported by third-party video evidence, that they (GTX 480's in quad-SLI) pull 1.5kW under Furmark.
