new keyboard

Thread Starter

hey guys just sorted out my new computer now im looking for a keyboard and mouse.

for the mouse im thinking logitech g9x

but with keyboard i dont know where to look

theres been a couple that ive been looking at:

Razer BlackWidow
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...source=froogle

Razer Anansi

But there just Razer and tbh ive been getting mixed signals with people and their opinions about razer products.

i usually play FPS and RPG and MMOs so keyboards with more keys to bind is usually helpful.

but would anyone suggest better options

thanks for the help in advance guys

well, the first thing to look into (since you chose a mechanical one) is to decide what kind of switches you want - brown, black, clear? the razer ones are blue, fyi.

this thread will help you out:

Thanks for the thread!

considering the Blackwidow is a mechanical keyboard and the ultimate version is around £100 new roughly the 2KRO rollover is quite worrying because i mean
im usually pressing 3-5 buttons at a time and if the maximum is only 2KRO the rest is block its put me off especially when considering the price.

would you suggest any other boards for me to take a look at?

thanks for the thread once again

What features do you want? Backlit, macro keys, media controls, full size or tenkeyless, etc.

I have the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate and it does all of that. I absolutely love it (although now my typing sounds like the lady at the airport check-in counter).

Look at the Ducky Shine or the Deck Legend - both exceptional. Ducky has media keys, deck is a little higher quality (20-30 bucks more)

You can get the deck straight from their website (tons of switch options):

http://www.deckkeyboards.com/

The Ducky Shine with Blue LEDs can be found here:

Did you want a mechanical or rubber dome board?

The only mechanical board I know of that has backlighting and macro keys is the Razer BWU, it also has media controls. I owned one for a few months and had no issues with it. I've heard from people that it is 2KRO, but I believe around the WASD cluster it must be different because I used 3 keys + a modifier and was never blocked. Also, I believe on the Stealth edition it is 6KRO.

The other backlit mechanical boards I know of are the Ducky Shine, Deck, Mionix Zibal 60, and Xarmor U9BL.

You have a lot more options if you want to go with rubber domes.
