MSI GeForce GTX 580 - Worth it?

Hello everyone.
I really need a new GFX. At the moment I am running with a ATI 4870x2 2GB. This card have served me VERY well for the last 3 years now but sadly I must admit.. It's time to let go. Thank you 4870x2. You will be remembered.

Now.. A new card! I would gladly buy a GTX 590 but here in Denmark, they are all sold out However I found a guy in the town I am living in who is willing to sell one of his cards to me, MSI GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB.

He says its 2-3 months old and works fine. Price at retailers is 497,23 EUR.
My price? 362,84 EUR.

Is that a good trade for me?

Thanks.

Well considering reuglar price at retailers is 497,23 EUR your price 362,84 EUR. That's good. That's your normal $134,39 EUR savings for you.

Wow that means that normally the GTX 580 in your country goes for 687.00usd?

Here in the US it's normally priced $500 USD which is $362 EUR. Heck, right now one can pick up a PNY GTX 580 for $409.00 usd.

Technically for us that's the regular price. It's amazing the mark up on video cards in general over seas across the board.

As for the card, it's a very strong single GPU performance high end card.

I love mine. I thought originally I'd SLI it down the road but don't have any need to. I'm gaming BF3 Ultra settings 4xMSAA holding an avg 60 FPS father well. I play games like Crysis, Crysis 2, The Witcher with no problems maxed settings.

If your budget allows it, go for it. You'll enjoy the hell out of it, I'm positive.

Arizonian: Yeah its really amazing the price differences are so high
And there is no point ordering from the states since I will have to pay Danish tax and the value of the card will be as it is here in Denmark.
