Don't really know for sure, but my guess would probably be less since even with triple channel 1366 has a slower IMC than SB overclocked.

Just get whatever works for you, or if you're benching, as with any other platform, get the fastest you can get because faster ram makes things go faster.
I think you may have misunderstood me, I was just simply stating that increasing the memory speed has given me a really large boost in performance in FSX. It seems to be very dependent on memory throughput.

I wasn't intending on commenting on price/performance or the value of memory bandwidth as a whole.

Depends on the chip & goals, when overclocking unlocked multi chips you can set the bclk where you want for the memory & still OC more. With a 920 for example the memory speed is tied to the bclk, if you want to overclock the cpu more you may have to drop the mem multi to keep going & end up with underclocked ram, where faster ram could keep up with the bclk increases.
But with 1366 memory frequency doesn't help much if the uncore can't keep up.

Good read. I was stuck on which to get as I've been purchasing 1333MHz for all my Sandy Bridge builds.

Then came the dilemma, this G.Skill kit ($54.99) cost the same as my usual 1333MHz G.Skill kit when it was on (Halloween) sale. Slower timings but the price was tempting.

So I pulled the trigger and gave it shot, will know by tomorrow or this weekend. I'm just afraid of higher spec memory causing instability since Sandy Bridge does not natively support it.
