Only 5+ years? Console gamers were still playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3(15 years old) and now the servers are regularly full for the Mortal Kombat triad pack. Fighting games weren't really big on PC when they were prevalent on consoles and arcades in the 90s so I don't expect you guys to be to into it. Online gaming didn't even exist on consoles when these games were knew, so it was a revelation that they shipped today with a feature that wasn't around when they were new. A lot of my friends still have their original consoles that are well over a decade old. Do you still have the PC that you played Doom on? What about Half-Life?
Not only that but Halo 2 still had 50,000 users on daily before MICROSFT killed the servers 2 years ago and it has been 5+ years. There are 20,000-30,000 people on daily for Halo 3 despite having two superior releases over the course of 4 years.
I find it funny how you guys like to mock console gamers for "flocking to the next best thing"(Not true as I just pointed out) but simultaneously flaunt the fact that you guys get mods that extend the life of your game.
Pick your poison.
When you consider the fact that console gamers, in a traditional sense, don't get the ability to mod their games to make them last longer, I have to call BS on your claims about the PC community being "superior." Just go look at the Halo machinima that fans create that rival the dedication of anything on PC whilst simultaneously having more restricted tools. That just goes to show that creativity doesn't come from a microprocessor but rather the heart.

Wait, you prefer quality over quantity but yet you prefer the version that offers the most
frames per second, and most
resolution to the version that offers the least number of things numerically?
What's even more confusing is that you have a bunch of babies in the 'BF3 console leading platform' thread crying about how BF3 doesn't actually feel like a 64-player game because of choke points that feel arbitrarily skewed for consoles.
Now all of a sudden the console influence can't be felt.

Something like COD is so bad in PC , People with 360 and PS3 are happy about that. Something like BF3 where its a different game when played on PC they dont take it as seriously.
Someone just pointed out that BF3 on the Xbox 360 has outsold the PC version(Retail+digital assuming the #'s are legit) by over 100% so what are you talking about? Tally both console versions and the number of copies sold exceeds the PC version by 200%.
And also if you look at the user score on Metacritic, the variability across all three platforms is only .3 points(6.8, 6.9, 7.1). That means users on various platforms were equally as pleased about the game, and that neither is better than the other from an objectivity standpoint.Edited by BizzareRide - 11/3/11 at 7:54pm
