x750 DOA?

good afternoon gentlemen

my hx750 just recently started making a racket so I requested an RMA through Corsair (most painless process, ever). At the same time I bought an Seasonic x750 off of newegg for a killer price (125) and it arrived yesterday. so this morning I disconnected my hx750 and installed the x750, replacing all the cables too. get done, kiss my comp, plug in power, press button, FLASH OF LIFE, *click, silence.

sound like a DOA?

I've been trying to reach seasonic all morning, didn't realize that in addition to the very sweet sounding asian woman who answers the phones for "sales", there are only 2 dudes working "customer service/rma"--one out on-site, another that didn't show up for work...I had a different impression of the company, in one word, BIGGER

this is my first experience with "faulty" equipment =( sucks that it's the PSU and that now I have 2 that need an RMA =*(

i'm hoping that I can get seasonic to send me the psu itself expedited while i send one back to them...

thoughts on the x750: smells, feels, looks like a solid piece of hardware. love the cables (much nicer than my corsairs), that being said the power cable doesn't exactly 'sit' into the power input on the psu. really wanted this to work. blerg.

sound like a DOA to you guys? what are your thoughts?

after talking to the seasonic "tech", I was really planning on just sending the seasonic back and buying corsair again, I'm kind of anal about quality and after discovering that seasonic is a 3 man operation...who i spent most of my time saying "what?" "can you repeat that?" too...i feel nervous about the possibility of having to call their number again

then I call newegg. accepting that i'll be out a computer for up to 2 weeks dealing w/ 2 RMAs...
easiest phone service I've ever had the privilege of using. no questions, psu doesn't work? okay we'll send you a new one, you want it fast? lets do advanced replacement; you want to pay to have it expedited? don't worry we've got that bill.

not only did newegg.com, in one fell swoop, justify my loyalty to their company, they also kept seasonic's sale of their psu

bravo!
