[H] AMD FX-8150 Multi-GPU Gameplay Performance Review - Page 21

Thread Starter
It's sad to see hard-core AMD "enthusiasts" defending the turd called Bulldozer.
Why is it so hard to admit the processor is fundamentally a failure?

I was really looking forward to BD and it was a major disappointment.

It is because he was being nice posting without compensation, info to the best of his knowledge...and a large segment of the enthusiast community crapped in his email and PM box with insults and threats, and pro bono work wasn't worth the hassle.

The man got tired of threats and people crapping on him like he was an official PR rep. SO yes, the enthusiast community drove him out, because lots of folks (those who crapped in his PM/Email box) lack maturity and are brats.

It is pretty sad when you're ostracized by suposedly "intelligent people" who should know better and respect other people even when their opinions differ from yours.
That's not intelligence - it's gang mentality, usually catering to the lowest common denominator.

How do you know he wasn't being paid? He lied to everyone on here saying the leaked benchmarks were fake when in turn they were exactly right. He got what he deserved

Just want to add. I believe he was an Amd "Plant". If he wasn't he should have came on here the day benchmarks were released and apologize for making all those false claim's and misleading everyone.

I never PM'ed him once ever, everything I had to say to him was said in the Bulldozer blog is live thread. He came onto enthusiast forums "to set the record straight" on Bulldozer, and all he did was mislead everyone.

I don't think I disrespected him, but instead questioned the things that he was saying. He usually came back with "the enthusiast market is single digits" or IPC will be higher, or everything you see online prior to release is fake.

I'm surprised people defend him, and have the audacity to attack me instead.

1. He lied to the enthusiast community.

2. I called him out on his lies, but somehow, I'm the bad guy.

How did he lie exactly? He posted the best info he had in good faith, bearing in mind he didn't work desktop SKUs.

Early benches are almost inevitably fake or inaccurate or both, and are almost always not to be trusted. That is the way it is. You will never see good purchasing advice based on leaked/early/pre-NDA benches. Virtually anyone on these boards would have and IIRC did say basically the same thing. Calling him a liar for posting very common wisdom, i.e. don't trust early benches and wait for final silicon, past NDA...well. I understand why he said enough was enough. I don't think anyone "outside the know", i.e. under the AMD NDA, expected or took seriously numbers that indicated (what ended up being) the final performance. I know I did not.

We as a community had a great chance to have a fantastic resource here...and over-entitled feeling teenagers here and elsewhere felt their cornflakes were pissed in and drove him off. And I don't necessarily mean to imply you or anyone else in this thread, I mean in general.

I wouldn't sweat it.
What people may be overlooking is that the company may have been treating him like a mushroom too.
If you knew someone like him was active on the forums, would you tell him the truth about a new product or feed him some *white lies* to spread?
I don't think they'd want bad press getting out before the official release date.
There's lots of money involved here.

I think you missed the part when early benches and ES samples were very accurate. He kept saying not to trust ES benches because they were not official. So when the official benches are similar to the ES and early ones, of course his credibility is in question.
