I may have gotten a bad Canon lens. Thoughts? EF-S 15-85 - Page 6

No, I mean... you're really gonna return that lens? It looks fine. You can see 100% ISO chart crops on that TDP link I posted -- looks pretty normal to me. I would say your technique and PP skills need more work than that lens need servicing.

I already sent it back a few days ago. I posted pictures in a thread on the Canon forums and the consensus from them was to send it back and that there was an issue with it. I was kinda surprised that what I got from here was different.

The biggest determining factor for me personally sending it back was I looked through hundreds of shots from my old 28-135 lens that I was using before and all the images from that lens are substantially sharper than this one in similar circumstances. I can't do any direct comparisons because I already sold the lens, but I was used to that one enough that I knew what to expect and this lens was not even up to par with that one.

The pictures I posted in the thread were in no way supposed to be well composed, and I never processed them on purpose. I posted what I got right from the camera. They were not intended to showcase my skills or anything like that. Not sure why that is relevant any ways.
