This is one of the dumbest things I've read on OCN in a long time.

That wasn't the fault of the engineers, blame the administration for doing that.

A corporation is a body of individuals, but it's unwise to assume that the engineers alone are the ones who messed things up. Even aside from engineering, you have departments for accounting, financing, management, and quality control - any combination of which could have led to bulldozer's unfortunate performance issues, or at the very least, made it more difficult for the engineers to design a quality product.

Maybe they shortened timelines or reduced budgets or whatever. I don't know much about the internal workings at AMD. Maybe their other departments aren't as restrictive as I might imagine. I'm just saying that it's foolish to place the blame entirely on one group.

And it's particularly foolish to hope that competent people lose their jobs.
Don't worry, DMAC is the same guy that thought all engineers make 3/4 of a million dollars a year

This Really Sucks. 1,400 people lost their jobs. By the time I get old enough to work for AMD It won't exist. There ATi Corp is the only thing from Intel Bulldozing them over.

That's a GOOD thing. Their marketing over-hyped Bulldozer, which in the end just their image even more.

I think I said it in this thread already, but it's worth repeating.

You can't over-hype & under-deliver:
"Be Epic. Be Brutal. Get AMD FX in Your System."

It's almost like the Marketing team had no clue what Bulldozer's performance was truly all about. They just assumed it was the greatest CPU ever, at least, that's how they promoted it.

Just look at my sig, some of their marketing staff didn't get the memo on Bulldozer's true performance.

Disclaimer: Just sayin', don't take it personal.
