Any guess on the Bulldozer design team size? I'm guessing it was <= 1400.

And I'd just like to add that cutting jobs is a good idea. Fire everyone who's screwing up, save some cash for a year or so and hire as needed. Union mentality breeds complacency. If GM, Ford, and Chrysler would've done this 5 years sooner (starting with their "SUV's are the future" CEOs), they would've been fine financially.

Don't sheiks or something own a large percentage of the AMD company? With that kind of resource they should have been able to compete with Intel.

I'm sure Intel is envious of AMD's GPU division, since they could not get theirs off the ground.

I'm still rooting for AMD since we need the competition. With Intel's reputation for underhanded schemes to exclusively monopolize/sell their components to OEMs and their current arrogance in distinguishing between locked or unlocked CPUs to soak more money from the consumer and if left to their devices, with no competition, we'll be sunk.

You can worry about rich engineers losing their jobs when thousands of people starve to death everyday?

Losing jobs sucks. Everyone knows that. You can pretend it affects you or you could have a good time with it knowing that your attitude changes nothing. Simple choice for me.

(PS, I'm a laid off electronics engineer, I can joke about it if I want to)

So what do you want everyone to do?

Get on their knees and pray?

Typical new CEO bs cut jobs for short term profit which will later be used to justify their existence. "I increased profits." Which is really " I added to the already growing unemployment rates making sure there are even more people who cant afford our products long term."

Seeing how the new CEO of AMD turned Lenovo into the 2nd best-selling PC maker in the WORLD (beating out Dell), with 40% YOY sales growth.. I'm going to have to call you out on your bs.
