oo well then get 1600MHz @ 9-9-9-24 and try to lower the timings. I'm sure you can do at least 1600 @ 8-8-8-22.

CL7 1333MHz
7/666.5 * 1000 = 10.5ns
CL9 1600MHz
9/800 * 1000 = 11.25ns
CL8 1600MHz
8/800 * 1000 = 10ns

In reality your best bet is getting the CL9 1600MHz and try to tighten the timings. The CL8 Ram you picked already has a factory OC, it is running at 1.65V. All of these calculations are in nano-seconds so you probably will not notice a difference between any of them.

If you read my 2nd post I decided on a set that was cheaper @ 1600 and had 8-9-8-24 timings.

nvm. Cheap RAM is cheap.. don't expect to be able to tighten timings on it.

I don't see why you may be implying I made the wrong decision here, only because you didn't read a detail in my original post. Team makes extremely good ram, I had the Xtreem Dark series with my Q9550, and they overclocked extremely well.

Also, since others have already pointed out that if SB likes frequency>timings then why worry about tightening them up?

The ram you picked out has a factory OC, (1.65V) you should just get the 1600MHz CL9 (1.5V) and OC yourself.

Either way, SB was made for 1600MHz RAM, which is why people say that it likes higher frequency better, but if we are talking about access times, the Latency will play a major factor no matter what. But you should try to stick with 1600MHz. You will not notice a difference with any of the RAM you picked though. See calculations in my previous post. The main difference will be the 1.5V RAM should OC better than the 1.65V RAM.
