i7-950 Temps(advice on new cooler?)

Thread Starter
Im running the Core i7-950 at STOCK CLOCKS(*** temps)

an after about 10mins of LARGE stress test in prime95 im hitting high 70s(pictures below)

my cooler is the Eco advance liquid cooling and AS5(thermal paste)

My question the temps are really high for a stock clock, and would the Cooler master 212+ be way better, from what i heard/read it seems pretty amazing... i plan on giving it a lil overclock

Rig is in the Sig...LET ME KNO ASAP please thanks in advance

that cooler should be better than a hyper 212. well at least my h50 is better than my hyper 212 and that cooler is almost like my h50. try reseating it making sure u use a thin amount of thermal paste. also try to manually dial in your voltages at the stock clock my 950 takes 1.075v to be stable at 3.2 ghz (thats with the turbo boost stock). stock voltages can get pretty high if set to auto my 950 would pull 1.344 on load at stock w/ auto vcore but only takes 1.312v at 4ghz ht on when the voltage is manually dialed in lol

Noctua NH-D14 best air cooler imo, I think many will agree. I do use it with great results. - it is very big so make sure you are using a a big enough case.

surprisingly i have replace'd the eco with the hyper 212+ droped the voltage to 1.1v and prime95 Large test for a hour and max temp was 59c for 100% load, about 20c drop
