Is it possible?

I am in the process of purchasing a SSD and I am wondering if I will be able to use the Win 7 Ultimate Upgrade CD I bought when I upgraded my system from Vista or will I have to install vista get all the Dell Bloatware etc then install Win 7 over that?

Any info would be helpful and help me to prepare for when I get the SSD delivered.

thanks

Unless Microsoft made it so that you can't use it on a non-vista system. You should be able to use the disc as 7 is a completely different OS and doesn't necessarily upgrade from Vista. All the Win 7 data you need to install , is on the disc, just depends on Microsofts DRM. You need someone to reply that has used this method personally.

I wound up having to install Vista on then once I did I was able to install Win7 Upgrade. It would not allow me to activate prior, and once I had vista on it was no problem.... just deleted clean vista install off once I got it up and running.
