Any advice on whats the best deal here between the M64 64gb, the Nova V64, and F80A 80gb? I don't know enough about the three, but the price difference is somewhat negligible and I'm wondering what's the best to pick up.
+rep to OP, just got 128GB one for $116 shipped with $20 off new preferred account discount = $96. Now I will finally fill all 6 SATA ports on my board: 2 mechanicals RAID 1 for storage + 2 60Gb SSDs RAID 0 boot array + one 96Gb SSD for steam games... and new 128GB for MOAR steam games... muahahaha

I *think* the F80A would be the best buy out of those, since it uses a Sandforce controller. Looks like M64 = Samsung, V64= Indilinx.

IMO, not worth it. What with the old controllers and lack of warranty on those drives, I would rather take the money and hit up a casino. The drive I see myself possibly ordering is the 32GB one for SRT cache.

For these drives, no difference since none of them are capable of SATA III throughputs. If your motherboard is capable of SATA III, then the obvious choice would be to take advantage of the feature and buy a SATA III drive with speeds that exceed the SATA II limit.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer that. I think it probably mostly depends on the specific models you are comparing.

My thinking is I always like to see my hardware realize it's full potential. So if my motherboard supported SataIII and I could afford SataIII SSD large enough to meet my needs, I would get SataIII.

If your asking me something like "Other than benchmarking, can you tell a realworld difference between SataII and SataIII SSD's?" Personally my answer would be 'no' but the SataII SSD's that I have used have all been pretty 'highend' models. In my previous system, I had an 80gb Intel x-25 g2 (SataII). In my current system I have a Corsair Force3 180gb (SataIII) and a Corsair F240 (SataII). I don't routinely do large file transfers, I would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

But, for example, when I look at the specs of the Corsair M32 32gb - they look pretty poor compared to other SSD's. Maybe that difference would be night and day. Hopefully some other people will comment with their experiences.

If these were SataIII they would all be gone.

Not a bad deal if you plan on putting them into your laptop though.
